Ebay may have been wrong in how they handled your case but the source of the problem is the credit card companies. When you agree to take their card you also agreed that you would not charge any more for using their card than someone who pays in cash. They would not be in business very long if everyone had to pay an extra 3%-5% for their credit card purchases.
