Yes, they do look real. I've had several people ask me; "Where in Nevada do you live?" Then I've also gotten; "Why do you have a Nevada plate on the front & a Kansas tag on the back of your truck?" My response to that question usually is that I'm a dual citizen of both states. Some folks buy it!
