I had the pleasure of meeting Bud Jones shortly after the demise of Christy & Jones in the later 1960's. I considered him as a friend. Bud was a pioneer in the gaming manufacturing business and should be remembered for using his vast talents to revolutionize the chip making business with his metal center chips. It was always a pleasure to talk to Bud with his quiet sly manner that always left me with the feeling that I had gotten most of the story but not all. Two years ago I had the great pleasure of asking him a few historical questions. Two hours later we finish a taped interview that did more than shed a little light into some of the corners of the gaming industry. Bud was a pioneer who applied his brilliance to his favorite industry. When he was first starting the Nevada Dice Company he shared his knowledge with me and greatly assisted in the foundation of information that became Harvey's Guide to Collecting Gaming Chips and Checks. I will miss him greatly.
