The folks who ran the now closed Paulson store in Hollywood used to call me if someone wandered into the shop with chips to sell. I get a call one day that a guy has some chips to sell so that he can pay his wife's doctor for the impending delivery of their baby. He calls me later that day & tells me that he has $30,000,000 in face value chips from a Florida day cruise boat that he and a friend found in a dumpster at the port. All he wants is $100 and he'll deliver the chips on his way to work. I agree, sight unseen, to the deal, because I wouldn't want his poor wife to deliver in a taxi on I-95! An hour or so later, he and his wife come to my office carrying sacks & sacks of chips from $1 to $100. I politely told his wife to take it easy, after she picked up the last sack. Many of the $1 chips have been drilled to be used as ID tags for my orchids. The others are laying on the floor of my office at home & I'm still on the search for another boat that uses these chips somewhere in the world. I'll be more than happy to make an overseas trip to cash in my $100's.
