Slabbing is done not because of rarity, it is done for grade.
How many of the currently available quarters in the auction link below can you buy for a quarter at your local bank?

This example doesn't even rate the highest grade, yet it is being offered for 10,000 times face value!
It's a new quarter, way more common than a Luxor Silver Strike......
