William, the "Wrong" reply from Gene was responding to R. Staeffler, not you. But even if it were, don't take it as scolding. Gene has corrected some of my posts and I'm just glad to learn more about the inside workings of the casino.
But that's an aside... what I'm really responding to is to say that different machines have varying levels of ability to reject foreign coins/slugs. Generally speaking, the newer the machine, and the higher the denomination, the better the capabilities. Also, the type of tokens makes a difference, as some token mfgrs. have subtle differences in the alloy, weight, design, embedded signals, etc. which help identify real vs. foreign tokens.
If you do get foreign tokens from a machine or table, and they are refused for redemption at the cage, I would explain that I got them from table xxx or machine yyy, and that they should call surveillance to replay the tape and verify that my play was normal in all respects. Ask to see a supervisor if necessary. This has never happened to me, in 20+ years of playing in casinos, but I think they would treat me fairly. Dont' worry, IMO.
