I appreciate the corrections when I post something erroneous but have one question, Do you have to put Wrong in your subject line. In fact, the subject is all lower case then you upper case the W, making wrong hit you in the face. (slot tokens-Wrong) It is just that it gives the correction an extra sting like you are being scolded for being incorrect. That asside now, I was under the missunderstanding that all the money in went into the drop. I always apprciate the info, rebuttals and corrections that I get here as they are how stuff is learned. I still wonder though if it is possible for foriegn tokens to get through the hard count. As I asked in my post, Are there machines that check for them and do they always catch them. I can see, using my Orleans example, that any silver tokens would be obvious and easy to separate by machine or hand. Also I can imagine situations where a foriegn token would be spotted. However, do they all get caught.
Regarding the original post about putting foriegn tokens into a machine, to get rid of them. Among the ethical questions is the poor guy who gets the foriegn token(s) during a payout and gets caught cashing them at the cage. It may not always be the faceless behemoth casino that gets hurt. Say someone puts leftover tokens into a machine and I later sit at that machine and hit for about $50. Among my payout I get about 10 or 15 foriegn tokens that someone dumped. When I take my tokens to the cage to cash out and they spot the foriegns, now I have to go all over town to cash out, assuming there are not tokens from out of state too. Or, what if the casino wants to make an example out of me. What recourse does the casino have and what do they usually do to people who get caught. I question how hard the casino can be since sometimes they actually give out the foriegn tokens at the cage or tables. I have been given a couple myself while playing at a busy fast moving table. I would really be upset if I were to get penelized for using a foriegn if it was actually given to me at the cage or at the tables. Here I am an innocent person who got stuck holding someone elses bag. The casino won't care because they don't have to honor the tokens.
Personally, as a chip and token collector, it doesn't bug me if I get one or two from time to time. I can also see how someone reaches in their pocket and pulls a few out and puts them through accidentally. It happens and I get another token for my collection. However as I read about people putting large numbers of tokens in deliberately I start to wonder. If I walk up to a machine and win $50 and get one or two foriegns, I am not going to complain. However if I walked up to a machine and win the $50 and got 10 foriegns I might be upset if they reject them at the cage and toss me for trying to pass them.
