I do not consider it good practice to alter any casino chip; real or scan, and would like to suggest that such practice not become common on this board where students of gaming chips do take notes.

Prior to the printing of "TCR 7th Edition," there was a scan posted of a $1 Sands Las Vegas "A PLACE IN THE SUN" inlay depicting a $1 denomination on a red ARODIE mold w/ 3 1/4 gray inserts. The majority of us who saw the scan realized it was a simple joke, and we also realized the slug was that of a B&B CLUB chip. Unfortunately, the author of TCR thought this was a real chip and entered it as such in the 7th Edition assigning it a number of V5515 with a Z4 value: $2000-$3000. Such an error could have been made by anyone, especially when the fake scan was posted during the time a real $5 chip with the same inlay series surfaced. Luckilly, there have not been any reported cases of an "artist" trying to copy the scan and producing a fake.
