I am great friends with Steve Cutler and Rene Nezhoda. They both have launched me into the chipping hobby. Its pretty exciting. I had an excellent opportunity to go to the show at Arizona Charlie's and learn, buy chips, and meet fellow chippers. What happened next was, well, to say the least "disgraceful". The promoter of the show would not let us in because of a dispute he was having on issues with Rene, and Steve. Thats right, WE WERE REFUSED ENTRY INTO A PUBLIC INVITATION SHOW!! I left work early to go to this show. I cant believe that this person, Bill Akeman, charged people for table space at a public invitational show and refuse to allow people with money (thousands of dollars) into a show because of a dispute, which he would not even discuss when asked by Steve. I should hope that every member of our club realizes the complete disrespect that Bill has shown to all participants of the show, Steve, Rene, Myself, and all others that were refused access, and especially to the club itself. This is a direct relfection of the club. Lets hope that the damage that was caused to our hobby can be repaired. Members that act this way to other members especially a promoter of a show should not have the privilege of being in the club that we all pride ourselves in belonging to. This so called promoter who has been with the club for quite a long time I have been told, Needs to be reprimended by the club for his actions. Im sure he has lost complete respect by all who are involved; wheather it be directly or indirectly.
