Boy, was yesterday tough! The tough part was being on the ventilator and the tube down my throat. I KNEW that part would be hard, but I got off pretty early. Pleaded via notepad. Recovery has been fast, I have been up and walking 3~4 steps and sitting in a straight chair. Found two MAJOR KILLERS in this condition, hiccups, and passing a little gas (avoid at ALL cost!!!!) No painkillers today (so far). Jill, heard you call the nurse today, I nwas 20 feet away, (for me it may have been a mile). The nurse and I had been talking about chipping and Gail had brought up a bunch of packages from the two swaps I was in and a few trades I had made. That was a welcome sight after recovery & a high point. Was in ICCU all day and just got a new room, closer to going home! Still about 5 days away. Heart muscle nearly NO damage and all three bypasses complete success. Heart was only stopped 22 minutes and restarted on its own. Operation was a ‘cake walk’ compared to back surgery several years ago. Marv, Thanks for the ‘inside’ info, it all turned out true just like you said, I was still scared though. I guess everyone is when it comes to the moment of truth. I felt all the prayers going in, I think it made the difference for me.
Jill, I’m in a new room, & new number. Will email later. Gail brought mail again today….Haha got a JURY SUMMONS! I can parlay that into ANOTHER week off work! (Must have been all the extra prayers! LOL) Kinda tried now, so I’write later…..STILL KICKING IN TEXAS!
