Here is an ad for the Bevely Hills Country Club which indicates an opening date of May 5th, 1937. This must be one of the very first newspaper ads. From what I have learned from Glenn Schmidt's obituary, he must have been no more than 20 years old when he is noted as the manager of the Beverly Hills. It seems Peter Schmidt, the money behind the Beverly, the Glenn Rendezvou and Glenn Schmidt's Playtorium, must have made an effort to keep his name out of things.
