From USPC records, this chip was made for a C.A. Fox of Taft, CA in 1914.
What intrigues me is that if this is a person, he must have been either rich or important (or both) since most chips made by USPC were delivered to a distributor or casino/club, NOT an individual.
I was told that Taft is near Los Angeles. Is it possible that C.A. Fox is the Fox of 20th Century Fox fame? Does anyone know the full name of that former movie mogul? I don't know where to begin.
