Well, we are two months in...and growing everyday! Our users seem to like the Daily Jackpots...the Monthly Jackpots...the FREE picture hosting...the super low fees...the FREE sign-up bonus...the $5 Referral bonuses...and the fact that we are the first and ONLY auction site that is SLABFREE!
Some wrote us off immediately, but many others have tried us, and stuck with us! Many of the nay-sayers have even joined us. We get over 3,000 hits a day, and about 70% of all auctions end as "sold"...a figure not even ebay can match.
The amount of listing in our chip category continues to increase...as does our Silver Strike listings...some days, we have even more Strikes listed than ebay.
We realize that ebay is a giant...which is good and bad:
We actually listen to our customers, and respond to their emails...we charge a "fair" price, a flat rate regardless of how much your item sells for. There is no percentage of the final sale price charged, which saves the seller a lot of $$$s on higher end chips. IT DOES NOT COST US, OR EBAY EVEN 1 PENNY MORE TO RUN AN AD FOR A $1,000 CHIP THAN IT DOES TO RUN AN AD FOR A $1 CHIP...so, WE DON'T CHARGE YOU MORE...EBAY DOES, A LOT MORE! We don't charge an extra fee for listing an item with a "reserve" price, EBAY DOES! At JackpotAuctions.com, it's only 25 cents in, and 25 cents out.
And if you go through the listings, you will find a very nice variety of chips...from "A" to "Z"...and everything in between...and most have very low starting prices...and the ending prices are good too. Just like ebay, you will get some bargains...some close higher than ebay, some close lower...but the numbers are always pretty close.
Our belief is that if we can bring the buyers and sellers together to a more cost-effecient auction arena...everyone will win. You mentioned "economics"...ultimately, it's the bidders that pay for the higher fees,(including ther higher listing fee, the higher closing fee, the reserve fee, the % of the final sale fee, and the picture hosting fees). When the cost of doing business is lower, the seller can offer better deals to the bidders...and still improve their bottom line.
In the month of July alone, we added over 500 new users...and dozens of new sellers. The Jackpots that we offer are a nice perk to the bidders, and they help the sellers too...and does not cost either a cent.
I know we have a long way to go...but we are making improvements constantly...and with alittle help from you, and the other members of the chipping community...we will be able to continue offering ALL chippers an alternative venue in which to find Casino Chips, Strikes and Collectibles...and everyone will save some $$$s!
I prefer Pepsi...but I like Coke too! There is enough room in this world for both.
No, we haven't made our first million yet...but that's ok...we are making progress...we like our customers, and they like us...and we keep getting more and more. And YES, we do give alot of Jackpots away...but internet advertising is relatively inexpensive, so we give the $$$s and chips away directly to our customers,(and alittle to Greg Susong )...that's our "cost of doing business".
