I still have 4 of the 1976 dated, 4 undated (I believe the undated ones are from prior to 1976) and 2 of the "bronze" looking tokens (both undated)available for sale at $5.50 each postage included or you can propose a trade.
As I posted earlier, the CharlesTown Turf Club and Shenandoah Downs were located side by side in CharlesTown/Ranson WV. Shenandoah downs has been closed for many years. The CharlesTown Races have seen a renaissance lately as Penn National Gaming acquired the track and the good people of WV voted to approve video lottery terminals (slot machines).
I grew up near there and the local lore was that CharlesTown was one of the few tracks in the country that the LV sports books would not take a wager on. Guess the inteqrity of the track was that "questionable".
Can anyone substantiate that story?
