Unfortunately, this is a major problem with Chipco chips. I have gone through the same problem with my collection and ended up replacing about 30 chips that were damaged.
It can be a much bigger problem if you have your high dollar Colorado Chipco's in this type of plastic. I should note, though, that not all Chipco chips have this problem. But how can you possibly tell the difference?
That is why all of my chips are now in airtite holders (or wall frames), which you can find on our web site. They are simply the best protection for casino chips and silver strikes.
