You mention that opening the mail but not the attachment had an effect. This would concern me as everything I have heard is that it should not work that way. Could you please elaborate. I use AOL and do not recall receiving any messages like the Sircam email. Further, I have not downloaded any attachments in a month or so. Any infected files would have stayed on AOL's servers. My brother on the other hand has email that downloads all attachments to a file on his computer. The program he uses, Eudora, does not open the files, it just saves them for him to manually open. He has it set to Not Automatically Open Files. Norton has detected two files on his computer in that attachment file. He deleted them WITHOUT opening them. It would be concerning if they were still able to effect his computer.
