I use 2 email addresses, one strictly business related, one personal. The business address I NEVER give out, the personal address I give out BUT I take a look as to WHY someone would want it. If it is a required field then I use something like mwpoole@nojunkmail.com, usually the @ sign satisfies the feild. I do get junk, but a lot less than others report. It is easily gotten (if one wants it) as it is SHOWN all over this board. But I expect there are not to many junk mailers here on the board.
I did register some software as "Elmer Poposopilios" once as an experiment and I got junk (US MAIL) mail for a YEAR or so addressed to Mr. Elmer Poposopilios. It was a huge joke. I ALMOST applied fot a credit card for Mr. Poposopilios once but chickened out. The word "Fraud & Guilty" kept sticking in my mind.
