Hi Jill,
The initial infected email was sent to me by the adult son of an ESPN motorsports broadcaster who is a friend of mine. Why my email address was in his address book is something that I don't know, as I've never had any communications with him before. I'm confident that he didn't send it to me on purpose, the virus sends itself to everyone in an address book without the computer's owner knowing it.
The subsequent emails, I've found out, are actually being sent by my own laptop to me everytime I try to access my mail! The virus attaches itself to a random file in my laptop, then emails that file as an attachment to my email address. It changes the subject line every time, sends itself with the senders name as Elijah Morton, and the text of the messege is always the same.
Keep in mind, I did not open the attached file, the virus infected my computer just for clicking on the original email.
I've done two complete virus scans, and it comes up zero viruses detected. This is really frustrating!
