Sometimes when I log on to the board, it will say "23 (or whatever) new posts since your last visit"

Then, as I read through them...I click the Refresh button to see if any new ones appear. Then the message says (sometimes, not always), "800 (or whatever) new messages since your last visit"

Does this ever happen to anyone else? It's so weird!
