A few minutes ago I received a really NASTY e-mail from a person who didn't even have the guts to use their real name or e-mail address, They curse me out about how dare I not accept bids from outside the U.S. and who the hell did I think I was that I could do that. Well... I've taken the e-mail in stride and would like to explain here and now why on my auctions I only accept bids from U.S.
What foreigners don't understand is that unlike our Canadian neighbors who will openly accept U.S. currency anywhere (i.e. stores, hotels etc..) U.S. banks, stores, hotels don't or aren't willing to accept foreign currency because banks such as the ones I deal with charge EXTREMELY HIGH and I mean EXTREMELY HIGH fees ranging from $20 to $45 per check to process the deposit and convert the funds into U.S. dollars and as a result it is not economically fesable for me to accept foreign checks because the fees will probably cost more then the item itself.
