During my recent visit to Atlantic City, Archie Blank and I were roaming through a casino (Archie sure has a knack for spotting and grabbing discarded cards from the tops of the machines!). Anyway, as we walked passed a row of machines I noticed that the one on the end, WHERE THERE WAS NO PLAYER, still had a card in the slot. Not only was it a card in the slot, but the bungee held many cards! As I walked past, I stopped, backed-up one step, pulled the cards from the machine and took about two steps forward when I was acosted by a mid-aged woman, who was in sitting across the aisle watching to see if someone plays the machine or takes the card out.
At the moment that this happened, Archie looks back at me and says: Oh, don't take cards out of the machine." Well, I could never imagine taking a card out of a machine while someone was playing it, so I guess Archie was trying to clue me in on the "street people".
My wife plays quite a bit, and whenever she finds a card left in a machine, she just pulls it out and adds it to my collection. She has never found somebody in the next row keeping an eye on it.
