I understand "business".
AND I am GRATEFUL for the people in the "business of SELLING chips" - YES! EVEN AT A PROFIT... Imagine what it would cost me to drive to NV and pick up a $1.00 chip? (because THAT is what my last chip order was from George Conrad... ONE $1.00 chip.) GOOD LORD! I can't even START my Jeep for that!

Those who procure chips for me - and the KEY WORD HERE IS "REASONABLY" - sure save me a lot of grief and heartache because I'd have more than "sour grapes" if I couldn't ever get the chips I wanted! !!

Ralph???? YOU have never charged me 5x face value for a new release just because you knew "I couldn't get one" myself! In fact - if I remember correctly - the last chip you sent me didn't cost me a cent. NEITHER did that RARE OBSOLETE (ohmigosh! did I use 'dem words??? ) Harrah's token you GAVE me at the convention. (See?? You're knight- material! and oh yeah! I got my new card... thx! )

But I have to agree with Bruce on this one... (who can be MY white Knight in chippin' armor anytime ) - if someone lists an item at/ around face and makes $100 profit... WAY TO GO (and can I list mine next? ).

But I keep seeing "the limited affordable supply" being snatched up from the dealers who get the items and pass them on at pre-SET realistic prices.

MEANWHILE - SOMEONE ELSE HOLDS their inventory... and when the other's stock has been exhausted - they list the only available items left at a 500% markup. OUCH!! Good "business"?? Maybe. RUTHLESS, but thaaaaat's business.
One could even say "it is none of my business"... but I'm saying: "that one is getting none of my business." Will my business be missed"?? NOT!! Oh well.

ALL THIS SIMPLY SADDENS ME!

What a shame that is!! After all - weren't they designed with "us" in mind.

Well - presumptuous as I may be... I think I can speak for many and say: I THINK about $12 is fair. But reality IS: Most people WON'T get to pay what they think is FAIR... They will pay whatever they MUST - FAIR has NOTHING to do with it.

Perhaps my involvement in this discussion suggests that it is I who is speaking with "sour grapes"?? After all... I clearly want one of those tokens in my collection too!

Is that my motivation for jumping in here??
