Actually, Yours was the first that I checked. I saw your post here on the chipboard that morning and jumped on it. I knew these tokens would be popular and from the Valentines experience realized that the price you were quoting was probably near the minimum they would sell for. The price was fair. For me, I hope for you too. That way I knew I would get, at least, one token. As I recall you may have had a limit of One per which is totally fair also. Especially in the case of something as popular as these Holograms.
I did go on and check other dealers for a second or third but none of my regulars had any. At least not listed at the time or at a price I was comfortable with. I paid about 20 each for my two Valentines Holograms back in February. That was a price range I was comfortable with. From watching eBay, 45 to 50 is clearly the Market Established price but out of my range. I find a $55 starting bid extreme.
I am a collector not a dealer. I do expect to pay for the convenience of getting new releases. I can not afford to travel to Las Vegas every time something I want comes out. I will be honest though. I also consider my collection an investment. Not that I am looking to sell but just in a growth sense. I do occasionally buy a couple extras to sell or trade and help me acquire more chips.
Thanks to you and all the others I regularly deal with. When chips or tokens are priced fairly or reasonably it makes collecting more enjoyable for modest folks like my self. I collect mostly $1 and $5 for a reason.
