I agree with both Rich and Archie. When I was living in Southern California, it was no big deal for me to get to Las Vegas. But now it is a long 600 mile drive through deserts and not very enjoyable, therefore, I must pick my events more carefully.
Too many shows are going to have a devastating effect on the industry. Other than the locals (which can usually get together at their monthly chapter meeting) attendence will curtail drastically and no one will come out ahead--dealers or collector attendees.
I know both parties involved by sight, but have not personally met either one of them. If I had to choose, I would probably choose Akeman's show but only because of Janice and Jerry O'Neal.
For the sake of everyone, the two parties in question must settle this situation between each other--either by co-hosting a couple of shows a year or by another solution, but having a show a month or worse, two shows the same weekend is going to harm everyone,
Sure would be nice if either one would consider Reno or Take Tahoe.
