This was my first CCGTCC convention after joining 12/99. Glad I went, found about 1000 friends I hadn’t met yet! Really enjoyed meeting all the folks I’ve been trading with, yakking at on the board and e-mail. To paraphrase, a hobby where all the people are above average. I traded a $12 chip for a $5 chip because I wanted to and I was amazed when someone would do the same for me! The chips below are some of the unexpected gems you can only get by going to this convention. The WA. chips are both obsoletes and only cost me a trade to their generous owners. The speed-dice mold is one I consider a favorite and a lot cheeeeper than the Binions examples I don’t have yet. The vendors were great fun to visit too. Loved the junk bins where you could find F chips for $2-$3. Bill Akeman was giving away interesting chips, CT Rogers accepted the 10% off coupon on the newest TCR, threw in a couple of chip tubes and gave me back the coupon! Doug Saito signed me up for Chip Chat, tripled my collection of an Ely NV. house and then discounted his already low low price on the lot! I had some luck with the cards during my Las Vegas visit so I was able to just keep buyin’ and stickin' chips in my bag during the convention. Still, it was all the chippers I ran across at the Trop that made the convention such a blast.
