We've had some very educational threads both on this bb and the club message board concerning the damage caused by placticizers (and confirmed by experts).

Personally (since losing thousands of dollars in plaques and jetons housed in plastic), I do not house any chips (long term) in any type of plastic -- even if the product is labled "SAFE" or PVC-Free. I just wouldn't take the chance any more.
