Evidently Murph, you are looking at only the color photos in my catalog and not the text that verbally describes each chip .... or perhaps someone else is providing catalog numbers and images to identify your chips. All of the answers appear in the text descriptions portion of my 2001 Edition of Black's catalog.

Example; The answer to your Taj-1 vs. TAJ-1a question appears on page 29. Taj-1 has orange letters. TAJ-1a has red letters.

CLA-1 vs. CLA-1a differences are described on page 16. CLA-1 has Lt. Green letters, while CLA-1a has dark green letters.

Regarding the Trump Plaza variations. There are two different manufacturers of Trump Plaza chips. C TPP-1 is a Paulson chip, while CC TPP-1 and CC TPP-1a are the CHIPCO rose issues. The differences are described on page 35. The single "C" prefix catalog number identifies the Paulson issues, while the double "CC" prefix defines the CHIPCO issues.
