I'll be glad to clean up the image for you.

Buy a copy of Photoshop though. You'll be glad you did. Whenever I scan an image, I just load them into Photoshop and use the circle tool to turn the background any color I want it to be. I've even made up a routine where I can click one button and it changes the background to white, saves the image for me and closes the file.
