I found some information about your JFC red hub mold chip. The Boston Public Library had a street directory from Lowell, MA for 1948. No listings for Carney Co., but there is a residential listing for a John F. Carney, 21 Blossom St. See the scan, third entry from the bottom. Also look at the listed occupation: "carnival worker". I'm betting this isn't / wasn't his real last name.

The scan is of a photocopy of a page of microfisch. No bad considering.
