Archie chips were graded in the club auction but I feel not as defined as they should of been. We do not get many mail bids I feel as the black & white pictures do not do the chip justice & the mention of used, slightly used & never used. No wnever used I think most of us can understand. The other two I feel are not clear enough at all. I think we need some kind of system. To put one in the club catalog I understand would be way to controversial. I talked to Howdy Herz & Bruce Landau about this after the auction.

What can be done though if no one wants to accept anything in our club/hobby?
Many chips every year are in the auction in less than top condition. I do not think everyone which includes busy dealers has a chance to view all the chips. I didn't but bought 14 lots. Some were not in the best of shape but I was not sure & took a chance. I won't do that again. It is easy to get caught up in all the excitement & think you are getting a good deal. You do if the chip is in the proper condition.
