and I am going back to bed...
INLAY INLAY INLAY
I have only had my "old" one for about ... 8 months? The only reason I noticed was because I checked the condition of my "old" - planning to exchange it for a nice sharp new one.
I understand that I have no way of knowing if these are "new chips" (the woman at cage only said "... they were uncirculated...") or if they have sat in a vault for 8 years - and are in fact "old" chips.
Compare the texture of the inlays. The new chips have a satin-like (smooth) inlay. (I guess you'd call it satin... or is that just a Cheapco term?) and the old one (I have) is "textured" or "linen".
Maybe that doesn't matter? Trop has plenty of book space... seems reasonable enough to dismiss tiny details...
