"Scarce" is a marketing term, not a technical description. As a marketing term it is a matter of opinion, there is nothing you can do, except to not patronize the individual or educate the person that the item is not really scarce. If the person had said this is a unique item, it is the only that exists, that would be another story. Good luck.
