Jim; I don't recall exactly how many votes were cast as there were no appointed exhibit judges. Visitors to the exhibition area who were admiring or simply viewing the exhibits over the three days were asked at random to cast a ballot for the display of their choice that they felt was the most appealing to them. Hence the term "People's Choice Award". Novice and veteran chippers and non-chippers alike filled out ballots and dropped them into the ballot box. I seem to recall 38 votes for the quilt display, which received at least double or more of the amount of votes for the runner-up exhibit. There were nine exhibits on display... all of which received at least one vote. Hope this answers your question.
