It's nice to watch bidders on items for shill bidding. If it's going on, I can leave the item alone.

What bidding strategy? Bid high and you win it! ;-)

I can also see if someone who is more interested than I is involved, and leave the auction alone, instead of taking the price up. So another reason it's better for the buyers to see the bidders.
