ok, I just happily waded through 173 new posts since my last visit (which was on my way out the door to go to work last night) and I seem to remember my lamenting the fact that the bulletin board was really slow while (almost)everyone was at the convention. Just reinforces the old saying Be Careful What You Wish For.......
And in an effort not to take up valuable space and cause grief to anyone who bemoans the number of posts I will try to put my two cents worth into one posting.
1) Card carrying Republican and proud of it.
2) The United States of America = Free market ecomony & the laws of supply and demand (don't even get me started on farm/milk subsidies/price supports, but that is another NCR thread all together).
3) Greed? I personally do not think it applies to the initial HR NCV chips that were posted to any auction site. The potential barrage that could follow may well be attributed to GREED, but who am I to fault someone for capitalizing on an asset that they have in their arsenal. (Also refer to #2 above)
4) I do not have a HR NCV Convention chip. Do I blame anyone for this fact? Certainly no one but myself. To put it bluntly--you snooze you loose. I promise to NEVER sell any HR NCV Convention chip that anyone sees fit to lovingly package in a protective bubble padded envelope and mail to 2508 Parkview Court #301 Suffolk, VA 23434. In the event that I receive more than one of said chip I could create another trivia contest (just slightly more difficult than Jill's contest )and give the chip to the winner
5)Jackpotauctions.com--I think it is a great idea and appreciate the fact that it caters to our passion/addiction/hobby. I wish Mr. and Mrs. Mills and their partners well.
6)Did anyone from "The List" pick up a free sample of a slabbed chip while at the convention? If so how would you rationalize the acceptability of this?
7) How many days until June 5, 2002?? How soon can I pre-register for my FIRST convention?
As always Best Regards,
Murph
