I've been told before, so now I always carry a sharpie fine point and a chip to sign. So I was ready for the Mayor (thanks for the chip Chuck S.) and sure enough, my wife caught him just as he was leaving the room. Stupak's was accidental, but my having the sharpie was the key.

Seems that Jim Kruse (sitting next to Stupak) motioned to Susong (sitting next to me) that he needed a pen. At first Greg thought Jim wanted a Hickory SuperSonic with a Route 44 drink to offer Stupak as an enticement to franchise Sonic into various casinos. But after he figured that Kruse was prentend writing on his hand as a charade for wanting a pen and not for taking a food order, Greg turned to me an asked to borrow my sharpie. Of course it came with a price tag; a white chip ready for signing.
