To All,
I spent a great deal of time discussing with various individuals at the convention the topic of "Slabbing". It appears from those discussions that many individuals do not like, what they interpret, as crude, vulgar and militant behavior, by us involving thoses who do not support slabbing.
Folks it does not matter whether "their" perceptions are valid or not. It is what many of them believe to be true.If we are to be sucessful with the silent majority of collectors, dealers and newbies we must learn to treat "EVERYONE" with the respect and dignity they deserve as human beings.
I brought this up at the slabfree chapter meeting and I believe it is important enough to bring up here on the board.
Gene, I am sorry, but YOU have got to stop referring to people who work for the slabbing companies as "flunkies". This type of ridicule hurts our cause with those who are observing and waiting to take a side. We must develop some class and show others we are not vulgar and militant individuals who put down others who do not agree with us.
I tell you this. If we don't change our ways - we WILL LOSE this fight! Out of the 30 plus individuals I talked with. More than half looked upon as as some type of band of morons forcing our beliefs upon others. I was taken back by the candid conversations. It also scared the "Hell" out of me. Please, lets tone down the rheortic and deal in facts instead of name calling.
Thanks, Mr. "P"
