Guess my plea to stay at the host hotel fell again on deaf ears. My friends, we all want a bargain but at the same time we need to support the convention and the club. I'll not repeat the benefits of staying at the host hotel, however, I've been to over 50 seminars and conventions across this country where the registration fee in most was over $200 (and they were non-profit organizations running them). This registration fee was used mostly to pay for the meeting room(s). Hotels don't give them away. I guess this will be a case of pay now or pay later. Perhaps next year we should consider a split fee - host hotel conferees vs non-host hotel. I'm open to suggestions.
