"They have managed to sell at least $100,000 worth of books, making large profits, but never received any stupid comments or unfair criticism such as you and others of your ilk have given me and James."
Differences... TCR never promoted itself as being the "Official" anything. TCR doesn't suggest a grading system similar to those now in use with coins, baseball cards, comic books, etc. Three different price scales for chips that are known to exist in only one condition doesn't make sense for those chips.
Differences mean the world when it comes to perception and acceptance. This sometimes tightly knit community of collectors wasn't ready for some of the differences in your approach, many never will be. All along there have been valid reasons for negative (stupid as you put it) commentary and criticism. Your book has several points inherent in its title and content that are controversial. Defiance in the face of the comments and criticism has not served you or James very well. That has been your choice.
The guide that you have co-authored with my dear friend Pat Lamb has received zero criticism. Ask yourself why. The answers are pretty simple.
Sincerely,
Bob
