Whether the coins were slabbed or not is not really material to this conversation. What is at issue is that there are dishonest dealers selling collectibles to less knowledgeable "collectors" for inflated prices. Even if the coins were slabbed, I suspect that the dealers would still be selling them at inflated prices. It could be coins, Beanie Babies, baseball cards or whatever, it doesn't make a difference. What is wrong here is that there are people who put their trust in someone they don't know. There will always be people like this and there will always be other people to take advantage of the situation.
