Before I tell you the story of the Sullivan/CJ connection, I just looked in some notes, I took a few years ago from interviewing an old timer for a story, heres a little toad for your woodpile.

The scanned CJ shiney H&C sample chip was sent to a friend of mine, Ernest Dick in Victoria, TX 1970. 5 years after the CJ breakup. Ernest was running poker games and needed chips. He called TK Speciality in Kansas City as that is where he always bought his chips. The price quote on the CJ chip was higher than several other samples sent, so he bought cheaper ones. TK also sent their Horshoe mold samples at the same price as the CJ. I have the price quotes buried in storage locker, but could find them if I had to. I have a red one that was in the same sample package also.
