Dynamite Seminars!

The seminars for the upcoming convention are set and the speakers confirmed. The details appear below.
I think all members will find one or more of the seminars to be of interest, and I'm quite sure everyone who attends will learn something of value to their collections.

HOW TO RESEARCH ILLEGAL CLUBS AND THEIR CHIPS
Thursday, May 31, 8:30 am
Illegal casinos and clubs were numerous during the late 1800's through the 1950's and 1960's in the U.S. But because they were illegal, it wasn't in their best interest to publicize them. Research is therefore difficult. This panel will help you discover how to find out the scoop about illegal clubs and their chips: ED HERTEL, HOWARD HERZ, GENE TRIMBLE, AND MICHAEL KNAPP.

SILVER STRIKE FORUM
Thursday, May 31, 4:00 pm

DENNIS FINN will be moderating the session which will feature TOM POWER, Production Director for Sunshine Mint, and RICK RONCA, Slot Manager for The Plaza, Las Vegas. Topics addressed will include the design and manufacturing process, as well as casino and Gaming Commission decisions.

CHIPOLOGY 201
Friday, June 1, 8:30 am
Last year's Chipology 101 was the best-attended seminar ever conducted at a CC & GTCC convention. Dick Covington's graphics work made for an interesting, enlightening, and easy to understand presentation. This year the team of Covington and Knapp have gone deeper into the subject of how casino chips are manufactured, errors, and variations. The speakers: DICK COVINGTON AND MICHAEL KNAPP.

CHIP SLABBING: WHAT IS IT, HOW DOES IT WORK, AND SHOULD I CARE?
Saturday, June 2, 8:30 am
One of the most controversial topics in the hobby today, the slabbing of casino chips has stimulated many violent reactions, but not all of them have been based on fact or experience. Here's your chance to find out what slabbing is really about and what it portends for the chip collecting hobby. Multiple views will be aired, and the actual experience of most of the speakers will be an invaluable guide to your own conclusions. The speakers: KEN HALLENBECK, C. T. RODGERS, JIM REILLY, STEVE ROCCHI (from PCGS), and Moderator MICHAEL KNAPP.

Y'all come, hear?
Michael
