Hey Everybody!
A friend brought me a cigar box full of goodies that he recently found at a swap meet. Chips, dice, and cards...oh my!
Here's a scan of the chips. The top three have no stamping, just some nice molds. The bottom left has PSC hotstamped. The bottom right is the one I'm most interested in.
My revised edition of TGT has 5 Hollywood Club's listed. Two of those are listed for Nevada, but the 7th TCR doesn't have a listing for Hollywood Club. My guess is that it's the one in Toledo. Any ideas from you illegal experts?
Here are scans of the dice. The first set, Caribe Hilton, looks fairly recent.
I think the second pair is a beautiful set! They're from Cal-Neva and they look much older.
Both sets are 3/4".
The cards are also very old. They do not have a casinos name on them, but what makes them interesting to me is the seal from the US Internal Revenue Service. Some coworkers told me that years ago, the IRS sealed the cards. Can anyone give me some info on that? ..
I sacrificed one deck and broke the seal. Inside, I found a serial number on the joker and the ace of spades.
.
The box says "The NY Consolidated Card Co.".
I plan on spending some time this weekend doing some investigating, but I thought I would start here tonight and get some leads. We have some real experts on this board. I appreciate any info on these.
They're are only 12 Hollywood Club chips in the lot. There's close to a full box of the plain grey ones with the weave mold. Only three decks of cards.
Thank again!!
Tyrus
PS Hey Greg, Count me in on Monday! I can drive 3 people from the Trop to the Hard Rock!
