Anyone know anything about an MGM lion statue mailed out as a complimentary souvenir/enticement to VIP players at the time of their opening in 1973?
It's about 10 inches long by 8 inches high, comes with a scroll style note "cordially inviting you to the premiere of the world's most exciting resort hotel....etc, etc." Note signed by it looks like Alvin Benedict (President) and Bernie Rothkopf (Executive Vice President).
Statue is engraved with "MGM Grand Hotel-Las Vegas Premiere, December, 1973" on one side, and "Walking Lion, Antoine Louis Barye (1796-1875)" on the other.
Thanks,
Cinch
