Paul, I am not sure what you are saying.
There is nothing wrong with this paticular auction. The seller is stating what he was told and what is in TCR and the "Offical" book. I also purchased one from Rene for $25. I think it was a fair price.
"Can all these sophisticated dealers and long time chippers be fooled as well?"
Well DUH!!! They have been fooled before!!
I am not saying anyone was fooled, I was stating my opinion.
"Even if by any chance, the seller did not know the true origin of the chips."
How could he know? No one else knows the true origin, either.
"I would assume that the "masters" of the chipping world would know if these are Nevada chips or from an illegal club."
Paul, how would they know? There is no name on the chip and there are no BC Wills records. Read Jimbo's opinion on these chips in the archives.
I stand by my opinion, they are from The Thunderbird in Cape Girardeau, IL, 1948-65.
