Hello All,
I just returned from a three day (VERY unprofitable $$ wise) stay at Caesars AC.
I debated the tactics for acquiring some roulette chips on the long drive--about 6 hours--to AC. In the end I decided that I would be very upfront in my attempts. After all, I have a rating/slot card at EVERY AC casino and I decided that I did not want to jeopardize any of these "relationships" by being caught with my pants down around my ankles(from the weight of several stacks of roulettes in my pockets).
Although several pit bosses flatly declined to openly sell roulettes and some conferred with their peers before declining my request, and yet others said that chips disappear all the time and hinted that if I bought in they would turn their back, one said "how many do you want" and proceeded to sell me a full set of colors from one table. I had been playing LIR for several hours before this request and he obviously knew who I was because I had presented my rating card while buying in at the table.
Based on this experience I would suggest that anyone who is not an experienced harvester but has an interest in acquiring some roulettes try the open and honest approach. It may take some time and several trips up and down the boardwalk but you will eventually find a pit boss who will honor your request to openly purchase roulettes. No fuss/no muss and no chance at an embarrassing situation. With a little patience guilt-free roulette collecting IS possible.
PS. I picked up an orange/table 10/park place roulette from a men's room attendant who had received it as a toke. Am I now in possession of stolen property? lol
Oh and one more thing....I have exceeded my limit for file uploads on this BB. How do I delete some old scans?
