I agree that it is dirty pool to call what others collect "junk" just because it doesn't interest you. But I don't think that is what Jim meant in this case. I took him to mean it is worthless as a "Derby chip" without the Derby named, no date on it, no mention of anything related to the Derby - just a picture of a horse. I agree with him on that point, if that is what he meant.
Of course there are hundreds of horse-image chips not commemmorating the Derby in any way. In other words, a picture of a horse on a chip doesn't make it a Derby commemmorative any more than a picture of a guy with a guitar would make it an Elvis commemmorative. He's making a substantive point, I believe.
