A few years back we decided as a chain that we needed to standardize our menus, something that we had never done before. Not very many Sonic's served Pickleo's and the ones that didn't serve them didn't want to start so they were voted off the menu.

I worked at the very first Sonic that served them. As you know, we make our own onion rings fresh every day. They are one of our signature items. Back in the mid 70's, onion prices went through the roof. It got so bad that we lost money on every order we sold. We introduced Pickle's hoping that they would take some of our onion ring sales during that time. They were a big hit and we kept them. They aren't on my menu, but if you ask for them at my store you can still get them.
