Brian,
The $1.00 Sands chips, both orange and blue, are as common as dirt. When the casino was closing the cage was selling, brand new still in the white box, orange and blue chips to everyone who wanted them. Individuals were buying them by the box. Some 6 to 10 boxes at a time of both colors. The cage seemed to never run out <g>.
I believe the entire inventory which could number in the tens of thousands left the cage prior to closing.
The chips, in my opinion, are worth $3.00 each - retail! They will never be tough to get. Nor will they ever be considered rare or scarce.
I purchased a few boxes that I later traded to a dealer. The individual with me also purchased a few boxes and sold his a year or two after the Sands had closed for $1.50 each.
Anyone who tells you something other than what I have posted here as to quantity, rarity, etc. is simply not being honest. Best, Jim
