One disadvantage that sites offering free listings have is that there is no filter for the junk or for items with starting bids that are too high. Since there is no cost to the Seller if the item dosn't sell there is no incentive to only offer things at prices which you feel certain will sell.

To a buyer this means going through yahoo's auctions means wading through a lot more crap as well as less bargains. The good stuff gets lost in all the garbage.
